General Warren: Exceptional American Dining Experience in Malvern, PA

Amazing food. Never a bad experience. Team makes you feel like a family is properly taking care of you. There is not a negative thing I could say about this place! Amanda has been my favorite so far, highly recommended for your next date night out!

We hosted a beautiful family party at the General Warren. Arranging the space and reservation was so easy. The food was delicious, the setting & service was spectacular, and our family was thoroughly impressed with the variety of food and accommodations.

We recently held a 50th birthday party at The General Warren and had a wonderful time. Patrick runs a lovely and smooth operation and makes the party planning process so easy. After the party we received so many compliments about the ambiance, food and service. A few people told us the cake was the best one they had ever had! We all had such a memorable time and the General Warren team’s hard work made that possible.

This was second experience at the General Warren, a year apart from each other. We were there for a private event. It began with butler passed hors d'oeuvres served in the downstairs room. The room is lovely with cozy fire places and indoor fire pits however it warms up very fast once filled with people. Hors d’oeuvres included shrimp cocktail, Asian chicken skewers, cheesesteak spring rolls, and sweet pea hummus tarts. All delicious. Our dinner was served off the bar in a private room. We had a choice from 5 first courses, 5 second courses and several desserts. I opted for the French Onion Bisque (a clever take on French onion soup), braised filet carbonara and a raspberry mousse to finish. I also tried a taste of their well known snapper turtle soup. I was very impressed with all of the food. This year we were guests in the General Washington suite. Loved the room. The inn keeper was lovely. We had a simple breakfast consisting of pastry choice with coffee before our departure. I would have liked a more hearty breakfast given how delicious the food was at dinner. However, it is not a deal breaker for a return visit.

Celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant. The ambience was perfect for a romantic dinner. The beef wellington and filet were very good. Liked that entrees came with a starch and veggies.

We stay a night at the Inn annually in February as our little getaway. Charming rooms and atmosphere with attentive hosts and workers. Great bar and dining at the restaurant which has various rooms for seating. The porch is 4 season and very romantic. We'll be back again next year!

We had an absolutely phenomenal dining experience at this wonderful restaurant. First of all, thanks to the host upfront that granted my request and gave us the table by the fireplace, it made for an absolutely phenomenal evening. After our server Terry came over and took our cocktail order we spent about 10 minutes reviewing the extensive menu and narrowing down our choices. We thoroughly enjoyed the snapper soup and the shrimp cocktail for our appetizers. The halibut and the crabcakes were absolutely out of this world. I must mention that the chefs preparation for the halibut was so unique that it left us wanting a lot more. And of course we ended this awesome dining experience with their wonderful cherry tart for dessert which just tasted so yummy. Our server Terry was extremely attentive throughout our dinner and granted every single one of our requests, so thank you so much for that. Once again thanks to "everyone" at the General Warren Inn for making this an amazing evening to remember !!!

This review is for the restaurant only. It is a beautiful place! Lovely bar area and nice service. My only reason for giving 4 stars is that the food is so salty. I love salt...I put it in everything! But wow... So much salt in the food. And with such a large elderly client base, it is concerning.
